Danyèl Waro has always remained faithful to the acoustic tradition of maloya, the blues of the island of Réunion, and he is its recognized "hero." Musician and poet, he knows how to make Creole sing with unparalleled emotion: "For me, maloya is primarily the word," he specifies. "I seek the cadence, the image, the rhythm in the word.
