Dichotomie’s

Description

Trombonist of Claude Nougaro's last group, then Manu Dibango and Tony Allen, co-leader with Thomas De Pourquery of a jazz group and later a rock group from 1997 to 2014, founder of a trio with Manu Codjia and Vincent Peirani during the 2000s, first prize for soloist at the La Défense Competition in 2002, Daniel Zimmermann was in 2014 the first trombonist nominated for the Victoires du Jazz following the release of "Bone Machine." Three years later, "Montagnes Russes" achieved a clean sweep of awards from the specialized press. With "Dichotomie’s," a formation with unprecedented instrumentation, which brings together alongside Zimmermann three remarkable and strong personalities from the world of improvised music. On piano, Benoît Delbecq is one of the most unique figures of the last twenty years; his highly poetic playing draws inspiration from both contemporary music and electro. Virtuoso saxophonist and hyper-lyrical soloist, Rémi Sciuto brilliantly takes on the role of bassist on baritone saxophone here, a bold gamble for such music but a successful one. Finally, on drums, the master of "èspolyrythmies," Franck Vaillant, continually finds new forms of sound expression. A bubbling and joyful music that is unencumbered by any constraints.
