Won’t Put No Flag Out

Description

Their first album, A Short Moment of Zero G, was on repeat on Le Grigri. Three years later, its successor arrives exclusively on the lucky radio station. Won't Put No Flag Out will only be released in September by BMC Records, but it will haunt your beautifully shaped ears all summer long. They are Daniel Erdmann’s Velvet Revolution, a quirky group with magical textures. A tenor (Daniel Erdmann from Das Kapital), a violin (Théo Ceccaldi from Freaks), a vibraphone (Jim Hart from Cloudmakers), and a universe that sometimes recalls chamber jazz à la Jimmy Giuffre, and at other times the dark rooms of David Lynch, another fan of the Velvet. The proof is in the track they are offering us/you as a preview: “Give The Soul Some Rest.” It’s beautiful, it’s strange, it’s dreamlike. The trinity of fertile melancholy.
