20 years of career. What an important milestone in a band's life! Nearly 1000 concerts and 150,000 albums sold, packed venues, unusual travels, countless festivals… the musicians of Danakil have experienced many adventures and collective experiences! Starting from nothing back in high school, this joyful group of friends took on the somewhat outlandish challenge of forming a reggae band. Without hesitation, each member chose an instrument, and the small troupe booked a rehearsal slot at the local MJC. Little by little, Danakil managed to find the chemistry between the inspirations and talents of each band member, blending Jamaican reggae roots with the French language, and 20 years later, the band is touring the biggest stages in Europe! They remain humble and naturally create a bond with their fans and audience at every concert, just like in their early days. This unique atmosphere has greatly contributed to the band's success and has elevated them to the top of the French reggae scene, leaving their distinctive mark, stamped with independence and activism. To celebrate this anniversary in style, and thanks to their audience, Danakil will perform on the stage of the Olympia twice this year! They will follow up with a tour of venues starting in the fall.
