Brothers and sisters of the eternal son

Description

“Brothers and Sisters of the Eternal Son” is the 11th studio album by the American songwriter and probably his best. Damien Jurado sees this album as a sequel to “Maraqopa,” its predecessor, also released on Secretly Canadian in 2012 and already highly praised by critics: “my last record was based on the dream I had of a man who disappears, he leaves his home and decides to disappear. This one is about a man who goes in search of himself and never comes home.” It is therefore only logical that Damien Jurado chose to continue working with producer Richard Swift (Foxygen, The Shins) but this time turning to reggae influences in spirit and dub in the textures in order to create “a specific universe, with its own symbolism, its creation myth and its liturgy” as Father John Misty, the former member of Fleet Foxes, explains.
