Description

For the first time, saxophonist and flutist Henry Threadgill (Pulitzer Prize winner), pianist Vijay Iyer, and drummer Dafnis Prieto come together in the studio. Titled "Fifteen" in reference to the fifteen years of camaraderie and shared concerts among the three musicians, this album is the result of a perfect balance where each member serves both as composer and creative soloist. In total, the album includes eight original compositions. The repertoire is precisely divided between three tracks by Henry Threadgill, three pieces composed by Vijay Iyer, and two works created by Dafnis Prieto. Each artist brings their specific influences (avant-garde jazz, Afro-Cuban rhythms, and contemporary structures) to enrich the group dynamic.
