Midnight melodies - Digipack

Description

This near-perfect set by American pianist, composer and producer Cyrus Chesnut in trio with bassist Curtis Lundy and drummer Victor Lewis is his very first live recording. Captured at Smoke Jazz & Supper Club in New York, this record conveys the emotion felt during his thrilling performances. Cyrus plays the Steinway B that he considers the best piano in the city. The sonic odyssey of Midnight Melodies delightfully immerses us in the music of their friend and mentor the late John Hicks, but also John Coltrane, Billy Strayhorn, Milt Jackson, Miles Davis, as well as a handful of compositions by Chesnut and Lewis. 2014 album. Deluxe 8-panel digipak.
