Known in the United States for his ten years with The Impressions, Curtis Mayfield began a solo career in the early 70s. Highly regarded by activists of the Civil Rights Movement, the angel-voiced guitarist became a "prophet" within the Black community with the release of the soundtrack for the film Super Fly. A groovy manifesto denouncing the guilty passivity of politicians in the face of the drug epidemic in Black ghettos, this masterpiece remains a major musical work. Excerpt from the "La Discothèque idéale Fnac" guide 2016.
