Released in 2023, Cacio & Pepe is a collaboration between New York-based Colombian rapper Crimeapple and Parisian Clovis Ochin. Created between Paris and Rome, the project draws inspiration from both underground hip-hop aesthetics and an epicurean lifestyle, blending culinary references, natural wine, and a cosmopolitan lifestyle. Supported by productions from Michaelangelo, Buck Dudley, and V Don, the album features a short and effective format (8 tracks for just over 20 minutes), where precise flows, subdued atmospheres, and modern boom bap influences intersect. Reflecting its title — a nod to the famous Roman dish — Cacio & Pepe functions as a simple yet refined blend: a meeting between two worlds, that of a seasoned lyricist from the US scene and that of a Parisian aesthete, united around a project that is both relaxed, elegant, and deeply rooted in contemporary underground culture.
