Gift Of Game

Description

"Come my lady/Come, come my lady/You are my butterfly, sugar baby"... If there was a track-defining song at the turn of the millennium, it was "Butterfly" by Crazy Town, starting with its appearance on the 1999 album Gift of Game and ending with its reign at #1 on the charts in February 2001. Anchored by a sample of "Pretty Little Ditty" by the Red Hot Chili Peppers, it forever defined the term "nu-metal power ballad" and was a rare love song for the genre! But the album from which it comes didn't soar as high as it did, with over 2.5 million copies sold, just because of "Butterfly." The Gift of Game brings the noise with an all-out assault of alternative metal, and the group's rappers - supported by appearances from KRS-One and Mad Lion - are significantly better than their rap/metal contemporaries. And then there's the album cover, created by the father and uncle of member Shifty Shellshock, which brings to life the fantasies of every teenager listening to "Lollipop Porn." In short, it was a HUGE record that somehow... somehow... was NEVER released on vinyl. So, how do we handle its memorable debut on the occasion of its 25th anniversary? Well, first of all, we created an inner sleeve with all the lyrics (and there are a lot of them).
