Description

"Missi" or the half of "Mississippi," that of the imagination, of the romance evoked by songs and films. A sepia universe, suffocated by cotton culture where the blues shake our souls through the ages. It is in these imagined lands that the "Cotton Belly's" have decided to immerse themselves far from the grayness of their Parisian suburb. The crayfish from the bayous of Louisiana tightly grips the cotton flowers of Mississippi with its sharp pincers, time seems to flow backward in the hourglass it carries on its back like a burden. "Missi" strikes its "blues" and takes us on a ride where feverish notes slipped on resonator guitars respond to the high-pitched laments of a not-so-desperate harmonica. The return to roots is inevitable and at times recalls the African origins of this enchanting music. "Missi" also breathes folk with its banjo tones, acoustic rhythms, and light ballads. Some tracks occasionally soak up "rock" around a powerful drum, heavy with metal and other percussions, blending joyfully with bass and double bass. The electric guitars dance and make you dance, sometimes leading you into unsuspected mists. Finally, the warm and captivating voice of the singer completes this mix of flavors with shades of soul and pop. The melodies are pleasant, the themes enchanting, and the generosity of the four "Cotton Bellies" is no longer in question.
