Description

Conclave is a live musical project bringing together constantly evolving musicians, led by multi-instrumentalist and singer Cesar Toribio. The chemistry is palpable, noticeable in the ebb and flow of their compositions. Seductive juxtapositions of delicacy and power are inextricably intertwined around a lively and vibrant rhythm. A true ode to these cross-influences, Conclave's self-titled debut album draws inspiration from different generations and genres, attracting friends, neighbors, and passersby with the irresistible energy of a New York neighborhood party. Driven by the single "Perdón," an enchanting and exuberant invitation to dance, whose first 30 cm vinyl pressing sold out in just a few days, Conclave's 11-track album evokes the spirit of iconic and free figures in music that is both crafted and deeply soulful, such as Theo Parrish, Osunlade, Elements of Life, and Nuyorican Soul. The latter two points are particularly relevant given the enthusiasm and involvement of Louie Vega, a member of Masters At Work, in the project. In collaboration with Josh Milan, another house legend, Louie has produced three exceptional remixes for the "Perdón" 45 RPM maxi single. Additionally, Conclave has received support and airplay from artists such as Gilles Peterson, Ron Trent, Natasha Diggs, Rich Medina, and Kim Lightfoot, among others. This is the first studio album from Love Injection Records, an independent subsidiary of the renowned historic label.
