At 28, Colter Wall is already releasing his fourth album. The Canadian, a Saskatchewan native, offers roots country that in other times would have been called "Outlaw." His heroes are Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard, and Willie Nelson, and it shows. With a deep voice, one of those that suggests this guy has lived things older and deeper than his young age would imply, this storyteller/songwriter represents authentic Americana, the kind that draws from folk music, the kind that was born around cowboys' campfires, the kind that tells the daily lives of Americans who live far from the "coasts."
