These three groups were the cornerstones of Goldwax and, alongside the songwriting talents of George Jackson and Dan Greer, demonstrate why the label's influence is still significant today. The catalog is filled with gems, from the early recordings of Timmy Thomas, the writer of the hit "Why Can't We Live Together," to rarely recorded artists like Philip & the Faithfuls. This compilation also showcases how strong the club and studio scene in Memphis was at the time, with recordings from Willie Walker, Percy Milem, Barbara Perry, Gene "Bowlegs" Miller, and others who recorded little but were popular live artists.
