Description

Directed by the king of comedy Billy Wilder, Some Like It Hot is a cult film, a great classic of cinema, a gem in black and white, ahead of its time: the viewer follows the escape of two musicians who dress as drag queens to evade ill-intentioned mobsters. Behind the scenes, Billy Wilder and his screenwriter tackle, as early as the late fifties, the issues of homosexuality, cross-dressing, and patriarchy. The film is also very funny, featuring an extraordinary trio (Jack Lemmon – Tony Curtis – Marilyn Monroe). The score reflects this: sometimes serious, sometimes light, always catchy and timeless. In addition to the pieces composed by Adolph Deutsch and jazzman Matty Malneck, two songs are performed by Marilyn Monroe: “Runnin’ Wild” and the cult classic “I Wanna Be Loved by You.”
