Focusing on both the A and B sides of the new HM groups from Neat Records, "All Systems Go" is one of the most comprehensive collections from the Neat catalog to date, documenting their impact and influence on the NWOBHM. From the first album by Tygers Of Pan Tang, "Don't Touch Me There" in 1979, to Venom's "Warhead," released in 1984, "All Systems Go" does not stop for a moment. Neat Records started as a label working at Impulse Studios, Wallsend, Tyne & Wear, in the north of England. David Wood of Impulse had created several different labels to showcase various bands and genres, and when Neat was initially formed, it didn't really have a direction, releasing a few pop-oriented singles. But then, Neat and Tygers Of Pan Tang crossed paths, and things were never quite the same again. Neat Records adopted the slogan "Apparently the UK's number 1 independent heavy metal label," and its importance for the growth and dissemination of the new wave of British heavy metal cannot be underestimated. This four-CD set includes many influential, collectible, and highly sought-after heavy metal bands, including Fist with "Name, Rank And Serial Number" b/w "You'll Never Get Me Up (In One Of These)" and White Spirit, featuring Janick Gers, future guitarist of Iron Maiden, with "Back To The Grind" n/b "Cheetah." Raven, one of the most important artists of the NWOBHM era, is represented by "Don't Need Your Money" n/b "Wiped Out," "Hard Ride" n/b "Crazy World," "Break The Chain" b/w "The Ballad Of Marshall Stack," as well as their collaboration with Accept's Udo on their cover of Steppenwolf's classic, "Born To Be Wild" n/b "Inquisitor." Although less often celebrated, but equally important for the development of the genre, this 4-CD collection also features Valhalla with "Coming Home" n/b "Trouble With You (Ain't Looking For Trouble)," "Miracle Man" by Sabre n/b "On The Loose," and Persian Risk with "Ridin' High" b/w "Hurt You," among many other HM classics.
