Sometimes, we fall. Sometimes, we hold on. That’s how it is. No uncertainty, even less resignation in this new record by Club Cactus, aptly titled 3: chute, lever, départ. Fast and unadorned. Sometimes we move forward, sometimes we move back, but it is always about movement. Proof? The first drum riff of the first track on this album. It sounds like early Pixies, like an unreleased Silver Apples track too. It is the sway chosen by Anthony Laguerre and Jean-Michel Pirès for this open Club. To movement, in all its dimensions. Romantic, geometric, vocal, supersonic, or even sensory. Open to voices, to kneaded languages. Vibrations more than concept, porous with sensitivity more than revealing meaning.
