Claude Besson, the bard of Brittany, became known at the beginning of the folk movement in the late 1960s in France.
In 1972, he was discovered by Nicolas Péridès (producer of Yves Simon) who produced his first records. He then released his first 45 RPM, with the song Damdidalididam, his updated version of Dans les prisons de Nantes, which allowed him to gain recognition on the airwaves.
This was followed by an album titled N'oubliez pas l'Armor, related to the current events in Brittany (depopulation, closure of slate quarries, working conditions, unemployment), which contributed to the history of Breton song (with a bit of Breton, rarely used in his other creations). In 1974, he released an instrumental dulcimer record (which he greatly helped to popularize) psaltérion, dulspinet, and won the Grand Prix of the Charles-Cros Academy.
In 1976, he wrote the song Les Amours d'artisan released on his second album and performed at Bobino. Claude Besson highlights a poetic show with his songs, In 1980, his third album was released!
This 3 CD box set includes all the tracks recorded for the Peridès label.
