Dansatz project Lo viatge de Piou-Piou

Description

This musical tale is intended to raise awareness of the dances of the Pays d'Oc. Piu-Piu’s journey takes our young hero to a few corners of the Pays d’Òc. Why include a tale in a dance production? In Occitan culture, as in many cultures, oral transmission is predominant and, just as a tale can be initiatory, it can structure time and space, open ears and minds. Between traditional repertoire and original compositions, the music you will hear has been carefully chosen to highlight its danceability. The texts offered, written in a contemporary style, present the rich phonological range of Occitan and allow for an introduction to the language or a deeper exploration of it. The colors of the musical arrangements and the languages present on this record reflect the richness of the artists of CAMOM (Collectif Artistique et Musical Occitanie Méditerranée). Occitan culture has always been a culture of openness and exchange. In no way can it serve as an alibi for identity-based withdrawal or rejection of the Other.
