"A SOUND, A STYLE ONE OF THE FINEST ON THE FRENCH SCENE ..." Jazz MagazineFabrice Martinez had not revealed everything in "Rebirth", the latest album by his quartet Chut ! released in May 2016 on the ONJ Records label. The flamboyant trumpeter's band returns today with a double vinyl "Rebirth Reverse". "Rebirth" and "Reverse" share the same harmonic DNA but their musical character is very different. Through this double album, each track is presented in two versions that are completely opposed. While the highly electric "Rebirth", shaped in 2016 at the Ferber studio, has been remastered to adapt to the grooves of vinyl and the rediscovered warmth of analog, "Reverse", the new entirely acoustic opus, benefited from a live recording in the generous volume of a chapel. Taking advantage of the sublime natural reverberation of the venue, the double bass, piano, drums, and flugelhorn resonate with their finest timbres. Along the grooves of this airy narrative, we find the infallible rhythmic duo Bruno Chevillon - Eric Echampard, as well as the complicit piano of alter ego Fred Escoffier. Fabrice Martinez, for his part, continues to masterfully blow hot and cold through the brass, and to assert an extraordinary personality.A sought-after sideman (Orchestre National de Jazz Olivier Benoit, Le Sacre du Tympan de FRED PALLEM, Supersonic de THOMAS DE POURQUERY, Acoustic Lousadzak de CLAUDE TCHAMITCHIAN, Archimusic de Jean-Rémy Guédon...), trumpeter Fabrice Martinez takes a new step in the journey of his captivating group Chut !
