Description
«Mitologia » is the title of the latest recording dedicated to Händel by the great specialist in early music, harpsichordist and conductor Alan Curtis, who passed away in Florence in July 2015. «Mitologia » combines arias, duets, and instrumental parts extracted from the works of Georg Friedrich Händel, all based on Greco-Roman mythology. The music illustrates tragic characters and ancient heroes such as Hercules, Semele, and Parthenope. The soloists are the German soprano Christiane Karg, one of the most sought-after lyric sopranos today, and the Italian alto Romina Basso.
