Scènes de Faust

Description

Depuis his beginnings in 2005 with a concert version of Berg's Wozzeck, Daniel Harding has always attracted the public's attention with spectacular concerts.
Once again, this is the case here with this vocal work for soloists, choir and orchestra by Schumann, carried by the exceptional talent of the baritone Christian Gerhaher.
With this recording at the head of the choir and orchestra of the Bayerischen Rundfunks, Daniel Harding succeeds in conveying all the force and range of emotions contained in Goethe's literature.
A very fine achievement on a rare work by Schumann.
