Complete and perfectionist musician, Christian Chamorel is one of the most awarded Swiss pianists of his generation. Winner of several international competitions - "Gian Battista Viotti" Competition in Vercelli, "Premio Iturbi" in Valencia, Beethoven in Vienna, Konzertgesellschaft München, Société des Arts de Genève - he also won numerous Swiss awards including the Yamaha, Leenaards, and Kiefer Hablitzel prizes, as well as the first prize at the international competition "Virtuoso of the Future" in Crans-Montana. Christian Chamorel has performed a lot of Mendelssohn during his musical training and wanted to revisit this repertoire on record for many years. The work of the German composer has a freshness, a momentum, a melodic genius, and a fervor that speaks to all generations of musicians and music lovers. For this beautiful project, Christian Chamorel was able to benefit from the enthusiasm and professionalism of the Fribourg Chamber Orchestra as well as its principal conductor Laurent Gendre; the recording sessions took place in a harmonious and almost "chamber" spirit that fully reflects the very essence of this music.
