Re-release of Chris Rea's 10th album "Road to Hell", originally released in 1989. Five of his greatest albums re-released in 2CD Deluxe format: 'Shamrock Diaries', 'On the Beach', 'Dancing With Strangers', 'The Road to Hell', 'Auberge'. Each edition includes the remastered original album supplemented with a bonus CD featuring B-sides, rare tracks, and live recordings. Liner notes by Peter Doggett based on exclusive interviews with Chris Rea discussing the history of each album. Released between 1985 and 1991, these five albums allowed Chris Rea to conquer Europe and made him one of the most popular solo artists in the United Kingdom. Featuring the tracks 'Josephine' and 'Stainsby Girls', 'Shamrock Diaries' (1985) was a first step towards success, followed by the jazzier 'On the Beach' (1986). 'Dancing With Strangers' then marked a shift towards blues-infused rock, before reaching the heights of 'The Road to Hell' (1989) and 'Auberge' (1991), where the artist's slide guitar and husky voice truly shine.
