Featuring the tracks 'Josephine' and 'Stainsby Girls', 'Shamrock Diaries' (1985) was a first step towards success, followed by the jazzier 'On the Beach' (1986). 'Dancing With Strangers' then marked a shift towards blues-infused rock, before reaching the heights of 'The Road to Hell' (1989) and 'Auberge' (1991), where the artist's slide guitar and husky voice truly shine.
