Blues guitarist Chris Duarte returns with "Ain’t Giving Up", his 15th studio album, which presents a wide range of blues, Americana, and even alternative country influences. "Ain't Giving Up" brings together the Austin, Texas guitarist with, for the first time in 22 years, producer-guitarist Dennis Herring, known for his work with artists like Buddy Guy, Modest Mouse, Elvis Costello, and the Hives. The resulting album is not, however, a calculated return to the roots. Recorded live with vintage gear and minimal overdubs, it is rather a raw and revitalized showcase for the breathtaking tracks honed by the virtuoso. He fervently demonstrates his mastery of the elusive Texas shuffle and his deep love for the blues. "Ain't Giving Up" is intimate and gritty, but it also offers a completely pristine listening fidelity, as if we, the listeners, were in the studio with Duarte and his friends.
