The most famous Gregorian pieces dedicated to Mary, sung in the abbeys of France, in remastered versions. For centuries, Catholics have emphasized the role of the Virgin Mary in the mystery of Salvation and have given her an important place in the liturgy. The Gregorian repertoire is rich with these antiphons, hymns, responses, introit, sequences, or canticles written for the various moments of the liturgical year where, in celebrating the Savior, one naturally associates his mother. This double CD introduces us to this repertoire by offering numerous pieces that first evoke the feasts and celebrations related to the mystery of the Incarnation: from the Nativity of Mary to the Presentation of Jesus in the Temple, including the Annunciation and the Visitation, thus encompassing the times of Advent and Christmas.
