Album live, an exceptional suite, commissioned work for the Jazztopad Festival in Wroclaw, Poland. According to Don Was, President of Blue Note, for 50 years Charles Lloyd has inspired, comforted, hypnotized, and stirred those who love music. He is over 70 years old today and we find him at the peak of his artistic abilities, deciphering new paths by pushing the boundaries of modern music. It is a great honor for us at Blue Note to be associated with such a Titan of creation. This Wild Man Dance Suite in six movements was recorded during its premiere at the Jazztopad Festival with Gerald Clayton (piano), Joe Sanders (bass), and Gerald Cleaver (drums), and with the participation of the lyre virtuoso, the Greek Sokratis Sinopoulos, and the Hungarian Miklós Lukács, master of the cimbalom, who enrich this music by adding colors, textures, and rhythms. Charles Lloyd's compositions are sometimes elegant, graceful, turbulent, or dynamic, and sometimes meditative, peaceful, and emotional.
