It took only two years for Dunham Records (the in-house label of Daptone Records) to establish itself as one of the major forces of the new soul scene. The musical direction envisioned by Thomas "Tommy TNT" Brenneck, founder, guitarist and producer, member of the DAP KINGS and the BUDOS BAND, is especially expressed through the label’s flagship group: THE MENAHAN STREET BAND. After the notable release of several 45s and the Menahan’s first instrumental album, the label will soon release the first album by singer CHARLES BRADLEY. CHARLES BRADLEY’s voice is shaped by a life well lived. He crossed the United States from Maine to Alaska, taking odd jobs, singing and performing in his spare time over several decades. It was only upon recently returning to Brooklyn that he found his new “musical home.” His timbre stands out for its rough and sincere quality, that of a great bluesman. It was only natural for Brenneck to welcome CHARLES BRADLEY and his intense raw energy, with its heartbreaking beauty, into the label. Recorded at Dunham studios and mixed at the famous Daptone “House of Soul” studios, No Time For Dreaming announces the dawn of a career to watch.
