The arrival of the conqueror is near and the world as we know it is doomed to destruction. At least that is what threatens humanity according to the story that Chaos Path from Kassel has prepared on its previous releases “The Awakening” (2018) and “Downfall” (2019), and which will be completed on the third album “The Last Sign Of Eden,” due out on September 6. The roots of Chaos Path lie in Nordic-inspired melodic black metal, which the band blends with the harshness of German thrash to form a mix that is both innovative and revolutionary. “The Last Sign Of Eden” playfully combines razor-sharp riffs, brutal blasts, progressive structures and highly melodic guitar work with the anthemic epicness of heavy metal and immediately makes its way into the auditory canals. The band’s structure around the two founding members Ancient Weapon (v) and Richy Backfire (g) as well as long-time drummer Soul Obliterator has been greatly upgraded in recent years with the addition of new members Nocturnal Reaper (g) and The Doom Lord (b), and thus the strongest lineup in the band’s eight-year history has become a reality. The quintet celebrates an intense and dark live performance and has already conquered numerous club and festival stages. Recently, they played among others at Metal Bash and at Protzen Open Air, and around the album release the band can still be seen live at Schwalm Metal and at the album release show on the open-air stage in Hann. Münden. Chaos Path is an important part of the very active scene in and around Kassel, as well as of the metal underground in general.
