An unique opera-ballet, a historical model of the grand flamboyant baroque! Gyorgy Vashegyi and his Orfeo orchestra and the Purcell choir present a recording of Boismortier's Voyages de l'Amour, an opera-ballet from 1736, a score long and unjustly neglected. For this last dramatic extravagance on Glossa, Chantal Santon Jeffery takes on the title role of Cupid lovesick, and the soprano is joined by two other stars of the revival of French baroque opera: Katherine Watson (in the role of Zephyr) and Judith van Wanroij in the role of the shepherdess Daphne. A magnificent version produced in collaboration with the Centre des Musiques Baroques de Versailles (CMBV).
