All The Way : A Decade Of Song

Description

Céline is the artist who sold the most records during the 1990s. In ten years, she received every imaginable award. No less than 100 million albums by Céline have been sold since 1990. 'All The Way - A Decade Of Song' therefore represents an achievement for Céline: it is the first collection of her greatest hits accompanied by seven new songs recorded specifically for this "best of" album. The title track "All The Way" is an emotional tribute to Céline's favorite singer: the legendary Frank Sinatra. "That's The Way It Is," the first single from this album, was produced by Max Martin and Kristian Lundin (who have worked with Backstreet Boys and Britney Spears). "That's The Way It Is" is a mid-tempo song, perfectly in line with the current musical tone. Another classic revisited by Céline is "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face," the ballad written by Ewen MacColl that allowed Roberta Flack to achieve a number 1 in the United States in 1972. Thanks to the production of her longtime friend David Foster, the emotive and sensitive orchestration of this track gives Céline one of her most beautiful vocal performances. Céline also worked with Robert John "Mutt" Lange, better known for his work with Shania Twain. "If Walls Could Talk" is the result of this collaboration. Finally, Céline sings "Live," an interesting and poignant interpretation of "Vivre," the theme of Esmeralda in the musical "Notre-Dame de Paris" written by her friend Luc Plamondon and Richard Cocciante.
