This time, it is a complete live recording: Casimir Liberski ReTRio's Zelda Suites (The Live Album) is a heroic jazz adventure in the universe of Hyrule, available on half-speed remastered vinyl, presented in a thick sleeve with obi.
Casimir Liberski reinvents the golden age of video game soundtracks with live jazz versions of the flagship tracks from Zelda: The Legend of Zelda (1986), Link to the Past (1991), Link's Awakening (1993), and Ocarina of Time (1998) – and is full of nods! Oscillating between nostalgia and avant-garde, the Brussels-based pianist and composer creates a sound universe of pixelated folklore where melody and improvisation coexist in perfect harmony. Zelda Suites (The Live Album) tells the genesis of Liberski's famous album Z Suites:
"This live recording was made at the end of a tour in Germany and Belgium, in Osnabrück, in a small intimate venue. This new album therefore contains only 'first hot takes,' filled with all the emotion that permeated our playing that night. In a way, it may be more closely related to my initial vision of the project: to revisit the iconic themes of the Legend of Zelda games that marked my childhood and perform them live through the prism of jazz."
