"To the Gory End", Cancer's debut album, was released in 1990.With its second opus, "Death Shall Rise", "To the Gory End" became a classic of the genre, with its influential display of sonic ferocity and the shocking subjects that go with it. The album quickly made Cancer one of the flagship bands of the rising British death metal scene, alongside groups such as Bolt Thrower and Carcass. "To the Gory End" was recorded at Loco Studios during the winter of 1989, with legendary producer Scott Burns (Death, Obituary, Sepultura) overseeing the recording and mixing, which were then carried out at Morrisound in Florida, a location associated with the creation of many classics of the genre. The album also features an appearance by John Tardy of Obituary on the track 'Die Die'.This edition of "To the Gory End" benefits from a new audio remastering and is presented on a limited edition thick 180-gram yellow vinyl.
