With Loop Tales, Camille El Bacha and Naghib Shanbehzadeh bring Western classical piano into dialogue with Persian and Middle Eastern percussion. The piano sometimes evokes echoes of Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Ravel, or even Steve Reich, while the percussion adds a vibrant rhythmic dimension. Each piece unfolds like a looping narrative, based on repetition and evolving cycles that gradually transform. In this dialogue, piano and percussion weave an immersive counterpoint where musical traditions intersect, creating a sonic space where cultures meet and reinvent themselves.Born from a shared desire to explore repetition as a living musical material, the album invites the listener into an intimate sonic universe, shaped by subtle variations, resonance, and rhythmic energy.A concert pianist, composer, and improviser, Camille El Bacha has developed a personal musical language bridging classical heritage and contemporary creativity. Alongside him, percussionist Naghib Shanbehzadeh draws from the rhythmic traditions of southern Iran to deploy a powerful sonic palette.
