Mozart's immense creativity in opera is evident not only in fragments of stage works such as "Zaïde" KV 344, "L'oca del Cairo" KV 422, and "Lo sposo deluso" KV 430, but also in the more than seventy arias and ensembles he composed individually. Some are abandoned or unfinished sketches, because Mozart's singers (or sometimes even Mozart himself) were not fully satisfied with them; others were contributions to other opera productions, often presented at the time in the form of pastiches.
