In 2020, Mathieu Najean released his first album of original compositions "Panorama" on the Juke Records label. The album, inspired by the great masters (Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Clark Terry, Quincy Jones…) was particularly well received by critics with articles in Le Monde, Télérama, Citizen Jazz, Culture jazz, the Académie du Jazz, Tsf Jazz, France Musique, Fip, Couleur Jazz...
For this second installment of original compositions, it is in collaboration with New York singer Cait Jones that Mathieu Najean decided to work. A prolific correspondence between Paris and New York during the lockdowns of 2020-2021 gave birth to an entirely sung album, still under the sign of swing and blues. Composed of the same musicians as for the first album; Edouard Pennes, Bastien Brison, Noé Codjia, David Paycha, Edouard Wallyn, and Romain Vuillemin, from renowned Parisian collectives (Zoot Collectif, Paris Jazz Session…), the group plays and swings with pleasure and you can feel it!
