Meghan Parnell (vocals) and Dave Barnes (guitar) are the founding members of Bywater Call, a seven-member Southern Soul and Roots rock band from Toronto, Canada. The band is completed by Bruce McCarthy on drums, Mike Meusel on bass, new member John Kervin on keyboards, Stephen Dyte on trumpet, and Julian Nalli on tenor saxophone. Bywater Call has received several nominations at the Independent Blues and Maple Blues Awards, including Entertainer, Electric Act, and Best Female Artist for the 2024 awards season. They have toured extensively in Europe, where their performances have been praised by Dutch, German, and British media, with references to Meghan as one of the best female voices in blues and folk today.
