To properly celebrate the 30th anniversary of this legendary record, Kicking Records is reissuing the first album by the Burning Heads. If you have read the band's biography, you know the conditions under which it was recorded by Donell Cameron, the producer of Bad Religion, in the studio of Brett Gurewitz, the guitarist of the same band and founder of the Epitaph label. While Phil, the original guitarist of the Burning Heads, was reclaiming his place in the band, he had the original recording tapes in his possession. The band entrusted them to Guillaume Dousseaud—who handled the recording/mixing of "Torches of Freedom," the band's latest album released this year—so that he could remaster them with 21st-century equipment and technology. The result is simply stunning.
