Kanana

Description

The soul artist Bumpy, originally from Naarm and Melbourne, and proudly of Noongar heritage, has signed to the label Astral People Recordings (Milan Ring, Skeleten, Wave Racer). Kanana is the debut studio album by Australian neo-soul singer Bumpy, released in October 2025 via Astral People Recordings. This shimmering collection of R&B and neo-soul delicately reveals a singer of exceptional talent. According to Bumpy: “Many of these tracks come from a commission I completed with the Australian Art Orchestra and the Melbourne International Jazz Festival. This project allowed me to return to Noongar country to reconnect with my family, my land, and deepen my language learning. The arrangements and the performance are different from those presented at the launch concert.”
