Naarm/Melbourne-based artist Bumpy, proud of her Noongar heritage, has signed with Astral People Recordings (Milan Ring, Skeleten, Wave Racer). Kanana is the Australian neo-soul singer Bumpy's debut studio album, released in October 2025 via Astral People Recordings. This sparkling collection of R&B and neo-soul delicately reveals a singer of exceptional talent. According to Bumpy: "Many of these tracks came from a commission I did with the Australian Art Orchestra and the Melbourne International Jazz Festival. That project allowed me to return to Noongar lands to reconnect with my family, my land, and deepen my learning of the language. The arrangements and performance are different from those presented at the launch concert."
