This time, the Brooklyn legend produces every beat himself, featuring an appearance from General Steele of Smif-N-Wessun, thus closing the loop of the Boot Camp Clik brotherhood. Co-founder of Duck Down Music alongside Drew "Dru-Ha" Friedman, Buckshot has spent over three decades building one of the most respected independent labels in hip-hop, while remaining particularly prolific on the mic: to his credit, one solo studio album, three with producer 9th Wonder, one with KRS-One, four with Black Moon, and four with Boot Camp Clik. He is also the voice behind the cult phrase "Straight from Crooklyn, better known as Brooklyn," a line that still resonates today in the culture and prominently features in two tracks from the Crooklyn Dodgers collective.
