Semelles De Vent African Rimbaud's Trips

Description

Travel was a predominant element in Rimbaud's life as departure represented a promise of exhilaration. From London to Cologne, from Java to Cyprus, from Brussels to Aden, from Paris to Harar, Rimbaud tirelessly drank in the world, in search of a magnificence that would never be satisfied. All these journeys were the source of an abundant correspondence, in which descriptions and impressions jostle together. Semelles de vent is a musical project based on the poet's travels. The work consists of sound collections in conjunction with instrumental and electroacoustic writing, as well as readings of excerpts from the abundant correspondence.
