Ragtime : pièces de Debussy, Fontaine, Waller, Joplin, Turpin, Lamb, Scott, Chauvin, Daly & Satie

Description

Inclassifiable Bruno Fontaine, lover of plural music Concert pianist, conductor, arranger, composer, Bruno Fontaine is an inclassifiable artist. As soon as he graduated from the Conservatoire de Paris, laden with awards, he quickly combined his talents as a classical concert pianist with his taste for all kinds of music: arranger, orchestrator, or musical director for luminaries of pop and jazz, from Johnny Hallyday to Julia Migenes, from Mylène Farmer to Ute Lemper, or from Barbara Hendricks to Paolo Conte, Bruno Fontaine is recognized and rewarded in all styles. The composer has been nominated for both the Victoires de la Musique and the Césars (music for the films "On connaît la chanson" and "Pas sur la bouche"). The concert pianist received the ffff Télérama for his recital album dedicated to Mozart, plays under the baton of Yutaka Sado, Laurent Petitgirard, and many others. The conductor leads orchestras as prestigious as the London Symphony Orchestra. The arranger and musical director received the Grand Prix from the Charles Cros Academy ("Illusion" Ute Lamper). It is indeed the marriage of genres that he offers us here, in an album dedicated to Ragtime: "I chose to record about twenty compositions from the main masters of the genre: Scott Joplin, Tom Turpin, James Scott, Joseph Lamb, Joseph Daly, not to mention a detour through the great Fats Waller. I created an original arrangement for each of these pieces, with the stated aim of creating around these themes, a series of 'concert pieces', an exercise that has always been part of the pianistic tradition. I also added the famous 'Golliwog's Cake-Walk' by Claude Debussy, as well as 'Ragtime Parade' by Erik Satie. And finally, for the contemporary 'French touch', I took great pleasure in composing two Ragtime pieces of my own." (Bruno Fontaine) It is probably from his unconditional love of music, in all its forms, that the eclectic musical genius of Bruno Fontaine comes, a perfect example of a great talent of the 21st century.
