Brown Horse is excited to announce their second album, "All The Right Weaknesses," released on April 4, 2025, on Loose. The band returned to Sickroom Studios after a months-long European tour. Road-tested, the band recorded these eleven songs during a lightning week of live takes. Building on the austere tone of their first album, "Reservoir," "All The Right Weaknesses" sees an energetic Brown Horse merging slacker rock, folk, and alternative country. Arriving after a busy touring schedule that included shows at the Green Man Festival, Latitude, and the main stage of End of the Road, Brown Horse's second album is characterized by an intense energy born night after night on tour with a full band show. As the band explains: "We had been on the road in Europe for over two months when we arrived at the studio to start recording. We were almost constantly together, spending hours in the van listening to the same music, exploring unknown places, and playing shows almost every night. It was kind of the creative justification for playing so many dates before recording, to find that level of consistency. We didn't need to pay for rehearsal space - we alternated the new songs in the setlist and learned them on our rare days off. We had slept on the floor and on construction sites, taken ferries at midnight, driven a Ford Transit through incredible Norwegian fjords, and been towed from a snowbank in the middle of nowhere by a man in shorts and flip-flops. It was pretty cool to be listening to each other and sharing that experience before recording an album. While the songs from "Reservoir" took shape over years of intimate, stripped-down pub gigs, "All The Right Weaknesses" holds nothing back, building a howling wall of distorted guitars, accordion, banjo, and steel pedal, both familiar and hard to place. The songs are thoughtful and delicately arranged, but the record is more rock than ever.
