This was followed by the release of their first album "The Age Of Consent," for which the English words "an era defining album" are more than justified. It is an album that even defined an entire generation. Songs like "Small Town Boy" and "Why?" were both anthems for the gay community and global pop hits. Bronski Beat did much more than create a musically revolutionary album; its impact was profoundly political: they made a working-class album. And Jimmy Somerville was a very committed working-class hero alongside other artists in Thatcher's England at the time. 35 years later, thanks to the work of the new London label created by Because Music, here is the deluxe reissue of the album to which both Jimmy Somerville and the album's graphic designer actively contributed.
