Locked in darkness for over a decade, since the troubling events that led to the formation of the band, Briqueville captivates the audience with a hypnotic chant that evokes the heaviest elements of doom metal and post-rock before blending them with sinister field recordings, found sounds, and haunting traditional instrumentation. As winter reclaims its hold over the night, Briqueville will unveil "IV," its latest exploration of the darkest depths of the soul. The pulsing, repetitive rhythms of the Belgian collective and the penetrating, guttural guitar work return, accompanied by a more prominent vocal presence, ethereal melodies, and unsettling lyrics that explore the deeper, richer sound palette first heard on "Quelle" in 2020. Briqueville initially formed from members of various local scenes with the ambition to improvise around a single droning note. After clinging to something raw and powerful, the band suddenly found itself confronted by a stranger telling stories of a hatred that had been brewing for years. Since then, Briqueville has anonymized itself behind black robes and occult golden masks, unifying the collective into a single sound, a singular and faceless force, determined to convert audiences worldwide. With "IV," however, Briqueville begins to lift the veil. In addition to the auditory despair the band has crafted since its self-titled debut in 2014, "IV" is imbued with a new kind of intrigue.
