Description
Brandon Coleman releases a debut album with jazz and funk influences. Growing up in Los Angeles, Brandon Coleman learned piano and organ thanks to his musician brother Marcus Coleman, who taught him the basics. Later, he studied music at Colburn School of Performing Arts (the Juilliard of the West Coast, as he says) where he learned jazz under the guidance of saxophonist Lee Secard and trumpeter M. Clay Jenkins. Subsequently, he has worked with the biggest names including Alicia Keys, Roy Hargrove, Angie Stone, etc. He has been part of Kamasi Washington's band for a few years, which he also accompanies on stage.
