Pianist and jazz composer Brad Mehldau dedicates his new album "Ride into the Sun" to the work of Elliott Smith. The album includes ten covers of the famous American singer-songwriter and guitarist, four original compositions inspired by his universe, and covers of Big Star (Thirteen) and Nick Drake (Sunday). The album features Daniel Rossen, Chris Thile, drummer Matt Chamberlain, bassists Felix Moseholm and John Davis, as well as a chamber orchestra conducted by Dan Coleman. Brad Mehldau will perform at the Philharmonie de Paris with bassist Christian McBride in March 2026.
