Description

This Luxembourgish bassist based in Brussels, an eternal sideman, finally decides to present his personal project, an acoustic jazz quartet. Rich from his international journey and the diversity of musical experiences with great musicians such as Quentin Dujardin, Randy Brecker, Steve Houben, Philippe Jaroussky, Wolfgang Muthspiel, Gianluigi Trovesi, Avi Avital, and Jacques Pirot, he now leaves his musical mark in a melodic jazz style with varied accents ranging from blues to classical to swing. Entering the universe of Boris Schmidt is first to step into a velvet cocoon where each note is light, subtle, round, and complete. Behind an apparent nonchalance lies a great rigor and precision, skillfully balanced, which gives the whole a feeling of harmony and quiet strength.
