Piano Trio No. 4, "Dumky," ranked among the most famous works of Antonín Dvořák, is one of the most frequently recorded chamber pieces. After attending a performance with the composer at the piano, Leoš Janáček succinctly summarized his impressions: "A new source of light has flickered." Regarding Piano Trio No. 3, the famous Viennese critic Eduard Hanslick called it a gem, demonstrating that Dvořák was "one of the best modern masters." However, Piano Trios No. 1 and 2 have been barely played. In this light, the complete recording of Dvořák's piano trios is a project that fully deserves attention. Especially thanks to the artists who made it: Boris Giltburg, winner of the Queen Elisabeth Competition and one of the most distinguished contemporary pianists in the world, alongside Veronika Jarušková and Peter Jarušek, members of the renowned Pavel Haas Quartet, who have gained great recognition for performing Dvořák's music – Gramophone Recording of the Year (quartets) and Gramophone Chamber Award (quintets, with Giltburg). The three musicians featured on the album display an incredible ringing quality. Possessing the utmost technical brilliance, they breathe as one. The album was produced in the studios of the picturesque Wye Valley, straddling the border between England and Wales, under the supervision of the legendary producer Andrew Keener while London celebrated the coronation of Charles III.
