They Came Like Swallows/Seven Requiems for The Children of Gaza/Clear Vinyl

Description

Two major figures in alternative and experimental music join their creative forces for the first time in their nearly fifty-year careers. An astonishingly coherent meeting, traversing landscapes of primitive outsider rock, avant-garde composition, progressive ambient, and other bold, unclassifiable territories. Kramer (now Bonner Kramer) shaped the sound of Galaxie 500 by producing all their albums, while also working with Low, Will Oldham, and Urge Overkill, notably on their cover of "Girl, You'll Be a Woman Soon" for the Pulp Fiction soundtrack. With over 370 credits on Discogs, he is also the founder of the cult label Shimmy-Disc, which has hosted, among others, Daniel Johnston, Ween, Boredoms, and the Naked City project. Alongside him is Thurston Moore, founding member of Sonic Youth, also the originator of Chelsea Light Moving and a prolific solo career. An influential composer, cultural critic, and iconic guitarist, he has embodied the fertile tension between rock and noise for decades. This collaboration marks their first joint full-length album — a historic meeting between two legendary figures of sound creation.
